I chair the Deerwood Soil and Water Management Association. We’ve always been involved with a lot of university research as well as government research -- looking at everything from sediment loads to pesticide levels in the creek and basic hydrology, and how much we can slow these flows down to prevent some of the flooding going into the early stages of the Red River Valley.

The datasets need to be in a place where people can access them. When students find out what's available, they're very excited. You know, we live in a society where people think research is Google. And not everything is online. And we need to make things available so that people know what they have to work with.
